The Wall’s Already Built! (NOT)

Posted in Liberal, Life, Politics, Snowflake, Trump, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on February 14, 2019 by rikki5

Jokes on us, I suppose.  George Washington, first President of the United States said, “Your union ought to be considered as a main prop of your liberty, and … the love of the one ought to endear to you the preservation of the other.”   Do you think if I read that to a Trump supporter they would want to have a valid conversation and try to endear themselves to me?    Nope.  They would laugh in my face call me a snowflake and other insulting words.  Then start yelling MAGA and Build the Wall!  There’s just no talking to them.  Just look at any comment section on social media and they definitely aren’t trying to preserve their fellow Americans.  In fact, they probably want us all wiped out so they can live in their dystopia of isolationism.   They are like robots — do you still wonder now why Putin endorsed Trump for President?

Yesterday, there was a ‘finish the wall’ banner at his psycho rally and now This (F’ing!) Wall is already started, according to the self-proclaimed “great negotiator.”  This is just one of Trump’s lame attempts to save face after suffering a embarrassing defeat to his presidency.  We all know who is really running this country (hint: she’s the Speaker of the House).  Since Pence is out to lunch (or possibly in love with Trump?) — it’s apparent that Trump did himself no favors being “dog walked” by Miss P.

So yesterday, I’m saying he should just tell the Maga lackeys that the wall is already built because they are oh so eager to believe him.  You think he was the second coming of Christ.  Trump supporter:  “Oh, but he was sent by Christ to save America!”  Well today, according to Trump – it’s already been started!  Poof! It’s already magically there–even though no reports that I can find say any new sort of structure has been built.

So again, as I have asked myself so much in the past 3 years– WTF is he talking about?  Nothing has been built.  Only wasteful “improvements” to existing structures while the rest of America crumbles to pieces.

He’s feeding his frenzied fans his usual nonsense that the wall is already coming into being whether the entire American people approve or not.  And remember — who said — Your UNION (see above)–  not just the half that voted for him.   His devoted disciples are just jumping at the bit — according to them there’s nothing the rest of us (meaning the majority of the country) can do about it.  These folks are so mistaken by their own populist delusions of grandeur that they literally formed a human wall  after Trump tweeted that they would form a human wall!  https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2019/02/11/trump-tweeted-we-will-build-human-wall-if-necessary-these-supporters-took-it-literally/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.13aa7b3642b1

These people who call themselves true blooded Americans would do anything their glorious leader told them to do if it was in the name of the wall and all things Trump.  The worst part is they not only want to build a physical wall but a wall around what they have in common with “the other half”–being American.   I give ’em credit, they are passionate–but for all the wrong reasons.  We need true immigration reform as well as better foreign policy with our neighbors in Mexico and Central America.   Ever since the 1800s, we’ve been meddling in their politics starting with the banana trade and throughout history.  Then people wonder why they are fleeing their homes just for a chance…it’s almost like we’ve forgotten our history and our humanity.

So with Trump, I always ask myself who is going to profit from his nonsense?  Because the wall is nothing but nonsense.  Again, we need TRUE immigration reform not a wall standing up between an ally and friend of USA- Mexico.  According to various sources, there are several Russian steel companies invested in providing the “materials” for this wall.  Here’s just one article https://www.sltrib.com/opinion/letters/2019/01/19/letter-who-will-profit/

I would do a longer in-depth research but I’ll leave that up to you because it’s getting late here and I’m just over it.  Apparently there’s some Russian dude involved and some Russian companies and maybe his wife is good friends with Ivanka..but that’s just a coincidence.  LOL..

Goodnight!

More Tomorrow until things improve!

The State of Celebrity Politics

Posted in Liberal, Life, Politics, Snowflake, Society, Trump, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on July 13, 2017 by rikki5

I started out this year in a sincere attempt to dissent, as my right as an American.  I read I had the right to do this in the Declaration of Independence. I was serious.  I drove in the night like a bandit out of hell and half thought myself crazy until I saw the millions of women from all over this nation there with me.  The Declaration of Independence is a document authored by men who had noble ideas but were flawed themselves in many different ways.   I was taught about this document in the public school system.  I was taught that the people rule the show not the other way around.  I was taught to never doubt this document and also the Constitution.  Nothing could ever go against either of these documents  – I took it to heart.  Then I grew up and learned perhaps the things I was taught were just a version of things.  I soon learned that the hardest part about accepting that what I had been taught was distorted (and perhaps even perverted), was that I had to accept it so I could be in reality and realize that those things I was taught had to be examined under a new sort of perspective. The biggest letdown was to myself though.  That I had wasted so much time believing in the dreams they presented before me and accepting their rules and limitations on realizing them.

TomPaine.com: Dissent these days seems to be a dirty word. The Bush administration has, at least since September 11th, usually termed any criticism of its policies “unpatriotic.”

Howard Zinn: While some people think that dissent is unpatriotic, I would argue that dissent is the highest form of patriotism. In fact, if patriotism means being true to the principles for which your country is supposed to stand, then certainly the right to dissent is one of those principles. And if we’re exercising that right to dissent, it’s a patriotic act.

One of the great mistakes made in discussing patriotism — a very common mistake — is to think that patriotism means support for your government. And that view of patriotism ignores the founding principles of the country expressed in the Declaration of Independence. That is: the Declaration of Independence makes it clear that governments are artificial creations set up to achieve certain ends — equality, life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness — and when governments become destructive of those ends it is the right of the people in the words of the Declaration, to alter or abolish the government. (Zinn, 2002)

(http://www.howardzinn.org/dissent-in-pursuit-of-equality-life-liberty-and-happiness/)

After the march on D.C. earlier this year,  I have become in a sort of daze at the state of affairs about everything.  Of course, entertainment and politics is nothing new — check out this list of celebrity politicians (thanks wikipedia):

USA[edit]

What’s frustrating though is Especially how everyone is from every angle.  Facebook is especially toxic.  So now I’m just accepting that our society is going to pretty much start a downward spiral.  Even though politics has always been sort of there it feels now it is completely taking over.  Even Ronald Reagan was a Governor before he became PREZ so he has a bit more of experience….Trump has none.  He’s just like this national symbol of embarrassment.  Society seems to be declining too..by the amount of people who are wiling to accept the state of things as they are.   You can tell this is going to be happening by the amount of celebrities now  pronouncing that they want to run for President in 2020.  Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson put up the money to the Federal Elections Commission to run for President in 2020.  Part of me is excited about this possibility, he’s not bad to look at and looks like he could kick Trump and Putin’s ass.  He would be diplomatic yet forceful.  Genuine and easy to approach and talk to but also commanding respect and attention.  The ability that he can form independent thought helps.  These should be like general requirements for President right?!

Even so—  The thought of a former wrestling champion as President is a letdown.  We are picking someone to run the country here..a country people! It’s almost like a joke and it feels sort of like the joke is on us as citizens…do we really want Kid Rock in the Senate and Dwayne “The Rock ” Johnson as President of the United States?  No, we do not.

Then again, no matter how unqualified they are , I would vote for any number of individuals over Trump even if they are unqualified.  That is what makes me so apathetic about the state of celebrity politics,  you don’t even need to be qualified for the job as President. It’s like showing up to a job and you have zero experience in the field.  Sure you can learn on the job when you are waiting tables or typing data entry…but do you really want someone learning on the job with things such as open heart surgery or, I don’t know– leading a country?

Reality is merging with what is going on in television and social media.    So absurd to even think that voting especially matters if this is all we can do, just vote in some election for some people who are most likely very flawed individuals with big egos.  The state of celebrity politics is a dangerous game and one I’m tired of participating in.   Who will step up and run in 2020 if it’s coming down to celebrities — I just want to throw a few names out there that I think would make excellent Presidents:

-Morgan Freeman

–Susan Sarandon

-Matthew McConaughey

-Brad Pitt

-Sean Penn

-Sally Field

-Jodie Foster

Disillusioned in Middle America

For those that have messaged me, so sorry I haven’t written in the blog so much….it’s been kind of crazy with our country and the world in general right now, not to mention just trying to exist and be happy and just live. It seems like when one thing gets on track another thing gets off track. It has been this way my entire life though so I’m used to it. It just seems more intense right now, if that makes sense….

So much has been going on it’s hard to keep up. Since I marched in January, it’s been like one circus to the next here in the Good ol USA and frankly I’m getting quite tired of dealing with it. As an American.

To the internet, please help me! Get rid of this nagging feeling that things will survive until……2020.

So there are a few things I want to cover in this post..and they are kind of different but also interrelated.

The first is the breaking news story right now : Jared Kushner, son-in-law to now President Donald J. Trump has been caught telling some Russian peeps that they should establish a “secret line” to talk to each other away from seeing eyes (i.e., Intelligence forces) and that the Russian computer nerds should secure it. I don’t know about you but that sounds like a whole lotta treason to me! TREASON! And mind you, this is Trump’s family and closest adviser.

The second thing I want to discuss is Trump’s plan to open up trade with China and the basic deal is that American cattlemen are going to ship cows over to China to be butchered and slaughtered and in exchange we get their shitty cooked chicken meat.   I don’t know about you, but even though the cattlemen are super excited getting hard-ons about this, didn’t Trump himself campaign on the premise that he was going to be tough on China…he even vowed to cut them off totally ! Now all of a sudden he is wheeling and dealing and creating more pain and suffering for animals in the process? It is an outrage that we as Americans would support this cruelty, it’s horrible enough that here in America cows are subjected to torture, but now they are going to be shipped like freight overseas? And not only that, they are rounding up the symbols of our country – THE AMERICAN MUSTANG HORSE and “relocating” them and shipping them also to slaughter just so cattle can graze on the horses’ land. It is cruel and inhumane to do so and I will be writing everyone in my precinct about this issue. If anything, this has committed me further into veganism and my quest to get people to realize you don’t need to eat meat to be happy, satisfied, and fulfilled. The best thing you can do to not support these practices is go vegan…it’s a journey, not a destination.  Just start by swapping out certain things for veganized versions, it’s definitely fun to learn to cook new things!  I am thinking about reaching more people in China…try to get them to be vegetarian/vegan through social media but isn’t China communist? Can they even talk on the internet freely? Unfortunately, there are a lot of greedy people in this world who just want to use animals for their own selfish gains – please save it those who say we have always eaten meat…we have always done a lot of fucked up shit. But we can always change. And it least give animals the dignity of a life that they deserve. It’s unfortunate that so many animals have to be used and tortured in the process.  I saw the saddest video today of a cow literally crying.  It was so messed up.  Trump went back on every campaign promise he’s ever made and it looks like now with his senior adviser and family member, JK, wheeling and dealing for a back line he will be on his way out soon and perhaps animals will have a chance.

The third thing I want to discuss is the new TSA regulation about “checking out your carryon.” The TSA is now whining because people are trying to put too much in their carry on bags so now we have to remove everything from our carry-ons. Including letting them go through phones? So they can search us and profile us? Or eventually maybe they can scan our retinas just to prove our identity because there are doppelgängers out there? I love how these thing always come after some sort of terrorist act.  They didn’t even wait a week to roll this out.  Now we have to go through extra love feels from the TSA.  My city is one of the lucky ones they are testing this out on, like we are rats, and they are experimenting on us to see if we are going to go for this or not.  They came out with this story this morning and are saying they are giving it a “trial run” in select cities across the nation. Just like they did with the body X-rays…wonder what they will want next? A sample of DNA to fly the friendly skies? Fuck you. I’ll drive. But I assume that too will be coming soon to the highways if Americans don’t stand up and say, thanks- but no thanks. It’s not like I am not for being safe and secure, but where is the line drawn? Are we going to allow them to scan us like property just like they do with the cows and shipping them to other countries? when are we going to stand up and say NO! because they will keep pushing further and further until finally we basically have to have secret clearance to fly anywhere. They don’t want poor people flying you see…and that is fine. But if they ever come after the highways and byways we will have a problem.  Then we will have to come to terms about some things as a society about how far are we willing to go to give up our civil liberties? When will we stand up and say no, I am a native born daughter or son of this land and my liberty is mine! it is a god given right! And we hopefully will stop them in their tracks.

If that doesn’t work, we can simply refuse to travel anywhere and become more locally oriented. We have to vote with our $$$$$ about what we are going to accept as people, both with the airlines and by what we choose to support.  Soon we will have to be getting back to more local ways of life anyway– their plans are very destructive–but we can overcome them if we become more aware of how “they” are planning to use we the people (like cattle) and then stand up with our voices together as one! we have to! ! !

Crazy Day

Posted in Liberal, Life, Love, Politics, Society, Trump, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , on January 25, 2017 by rikki5

Strange energies coming through today.  I can barely focus on work and I am very hyped up and more “political” than usual.   I keep reading about the crazy things Trump is doing.  So lets take a look on day 6 of the Trump administration:

Uhh, ya… I don’t know about you but none of this looks all that appealing to me during the first week of a Trump presidency.  FIRST WEEK– shouldn’t the President be getting the feel for things, moving into his new place, greeting people,  getting his family settled after a long season of campaigning, and seeing “what’s up” with this whole being President thing before he completely dismantles the government and starts pissing off a bunch of people?  These guys mean business, folks.  They are ready to start cracking the whip.   Trump supporters are eating it up though, if you question in any way their leader they immediately label you a Hilary supporter, a liberal, a snowflake.  Anything to make you seem weak and inferior.  The only positive thing on this list is the Department of Agriculture lifting the “gag order” — but again, why was there even a “gag order” in the first place from a President to a State Department?  Is this really happening in the country I live in right now?  I feel like I’m being invaded by a foreign nation.
Also in the news is the new administration charging reporters with felony rioting charges for covering the inauguration day protests.  See, here.   This seems an awful like that dreaded word that I didn’t want to use that starts with an “F.”  And no, not fuck!
Now independent reporters who cover protests, no matter what they devolve into, may be charged with felony rioting charges.  What’s next, charges against the American people for exercising their 1st Amendment rights?  I could see that happening in a few years if things continue like this.  It is only day 6.
Trump’s pen was all a twitter as well as he introduced proclamation after proclamation and writing it into law.  Undoing all of the orders that Obama signed, and introducing some clever ones of his own.  Executive Orders are meaningless, folks– this is why we have 3 branches of government so when Congress does not do their job each President has to do “executive” Orders but they are essentially worthless as we see today in 2017.  A newly-elected President can simply hold a news conference and sign his proclamations and now there is a new law.   Now we have a King and his Subjects.
What’s clear from today’s news and the past few days is that peaceful protesting, and solidarity with others in our cause is the only thing that will save us.  Executive Orders are meaningless and we are our own worst enemies but also our own best friends.  Let’s be good to each other!

Unbreak my Heart,USA…

Posted in Liberal, Life, Love, Politics, Society, Trump, Uncategorized on January 24, 2017 by rikki5

Late night ramblings….Toni Braxton’s video “Unbreak my heart” –ahem.  I’ve listened to this song as cathartic during a breakup with a man.  But now I am thinking of the man as our country and the car that hit the man in the video as the Trump administration.  And Toni Braxton as me.   {Disclaimer:  I’m not trying to belittle the seriousness of this tragedy or anyone who has experienced a tragedy such as this or losing someone as portrayed in the video or the true heartbreak experienced breaking up with a true love.  So please don’t take it personally.}  The metaphor is there.  Remember Tyson Beckford (the man) is the spirit of the USA and the car that hit him is the Trump administration.  And that’s me as Toni Braxton getting screwed by the government over and over. But still believing in the American dream.  😀 😀

And so after returning from the Women’s March on Saturday…feel completely renewed and inspired and happy. I cannot describe the feeling of just being in that moment and experiencing solidarity and true history in the making marching for a great cause such as women’s rights and against those who choose to desecrate all that we have worked for.

What a trip driving through the night like Paul Revere :

So through the night rode Paul Revere;
And so through the night went his cry of alarm
To every Middlesex village and farm,—
A cry of defiance, and not of fear,
A voice in the darkness, a knock at the door,
And a word that shall echo for evermore!
For, borne on the night-wind of the Past,
Through all our history, to the last,
In the hour of darkness and peril and need,
The people will waken and listen to hear
The hurrying hoof-beats of that steed,
And the midnight message of Paul Revere.

(Wadsworth, 1861)

After driving all night through the Allegheny mountains and then marching all day with more people than I’ve ever been around in my life I was truly overwhelmed.  Everyone was super cool and super nice including law enforcement.  The only time the march got tense is when Trump supporters came through with a Trump float left over from the inauguration which read “Women for Trump” or something to that effect.  People started getting fired up.  At that point a bunch of cops swarmed in from nowhere and it was over.   But the crowd was deafening.

Some of my favorite chants from Saturday:

“We need a leader! not a creepy tweeter!”

“Whose Streets?” “Our Streets!”

“Tell me what Democracy Looks Like!”  “This is what Democracy Looks Like!”

“202-224-3121” (This is the phone number for Congress)

So of course on the first business day since the Women’s March Trump administration targets women’s programs and other things not related to draining the swamp he promised and creating jobs.  He’s doing so much crap right now I can’t even keep up.

All of these people showed up and stood out and now we are supposed to call and petition and write and do all this stuff that is going to take a lot of time and effort.  It almost seems futile as the new administration is seriously eroding our freedoms and blocking pathways to democracy such as blocking telephone numbers and other essential pathways as communication to our representatives.  Don’t they understand they work for us?!  It’s truly becoming something I never thought I’d see in my lifetime.

A lot of folks are talking saying the GOP will get what they want then impeach Trump and put their real golden child Pence up for play.  I don’t see this happening however.  I think they still continue to keep Trump in power and use him overtly and covertly to accomplish their many goals.  In the end, Trump will probably declare martial law during some point in his presidency and we will all be subject to search and seizure without warrant or merit.

It leads me to somewhat feeling like this song below is me singing to the USA and accepting the fact that the next 4 years our true potential as a country is going to be corrupted.  Kevin Costner is the USA in this realizing what he’s lost.. 😀 😀 D: D: See how America runs back towards me at the end wanting me. Ok, it’s a stretch–but it’s realizing sometimes love isn’t enough and sometimes you can’t be together.

Whitney Houston, what a voice.

Also, this.   This song is my olive branch to the true country which is essentially just ourselves.  WE the people.  Even if we’re crazy and too idealistic.  Ok that was partly just an excuse to post more Whitney.

So what do we do now?  I’ve asked this and no one has a solid answer other than call and fight.  That’s important but I also think we continue to live our lives.  But we live them better than before.  We don’t give in.  We don’t become complacent and we still accept those that differ from us because we fight for their freedom as well as our own even if they do not respect or acknowledge or realize it.  We do the things that are cumbersome and boring and intrusive but we do them anyway because we have to do something.  We need to search out more truth in our lives whether that be discovering more about true history or cultural biases or learning about different ways towards truth.  We should look to see how we can be of service to others.  How will this stop trump?  Well, it may not stop his administration and their goals but they will not be able to infiltrate us if we keep our heads up, keep our morale strong, and keep our hearts open and willing to give and contribute.  Also, we must take care of ourselves.  Since we will expend so much of our energies being advocates we must nurture our own inner desires and creativity so as said by the wise Mahatma Gandhi,“You must be the change you want to see in the world.”

In Defense of the Snowflake

Posted in Liberal, Life, Obama, Politics, Snowflake, Society, Uncategorized with tags , , , , on January 18, 2017 by rikki5

Well, I cannot endure the nonsense any longer so I’m back baby!  All I have is the blog to vent this to..lol!  I know–bad form starting with lol– ugh! If you are reading this bear with me because not sure where it’s going….

Today a person I knew a decade ago, a person I considered a friend, called me a “snowflake” on Facebook for posting this video on my Facebook feed: https://www.facebook.com/ajplusenglish/videos/881689795305862/?pnref=story

Sorry you have to be the one to tell you, but I posted it mainly as humor…yes, it had a strong political message but for this particular post I was feeling apolitical, apathetic at best…and thought this video was hilarious.

Then this person who I never talk to and haven’t even seen for at least 10 years but for some reason am still “friends” with on Facebook comments some snarky comment (didn’t your momma teach you – ‘if you don’t have nothin nice to say, don’t say nothin at all’) to the effect that “all men talk like that” and I should just get over it and sorry I’m a precious little snowflake to which I reply whatever I replied (deleted the comment) — it really isn’t important.  But then this person calls me a “liberal” like I’m some kind of reptile alien or something.  Then the “snowflake” label. Among other things like “eat a dick.” This has been going on a while now with people labelling other people.  First off, if you know me, then you know that I am mainly libertarian with liberal sympathies…if you must label my politics.  So get over yourself judging me by your preconceived notions.  Hah.

Rant over– point is, people are getting really divided.  People I thought I knew have this attitude that they can call you labels like “liberal” or “snowflake” to offend and insult.  I didn’t even know “snowflake” was some sort of label until I researched it.  So — if that’s the case, then let’s look a little more closely at these terms.

Liberal is defined as:

Definition of liberal

  1. 1a :  of, relating to, or based on the liberal arts<liberal education>barchaic:  of or befitting a man of free birth

    { EDITOR’S NOTES:  This one seems good, “free birth” a person who is free.]

  2. 2a :  marked by generosity :openhandedliberal giver>b :  given or provided in a generous and openhanded way liberal meal>c :ample,  full

    { EDITOR’S NOTES:  Again, good, generous is always a good virtue to have.]

  3. 3obsolete:  lacking moral restraint :licentious

    { EDITOR’S NOTES:  This one is negative?, “lacking moral restraint” but obsolete meaning that the word has no place in a civilized society.–This is probably the definition the labelers use to label.   Leads us to the word “licentious.”  OH. YES. now we are getting somewhere.  Licentious —

    1. :  lacking legal or moral restraints; especially:  disregarding sexual restraints <licentiousbehavior> <licentious revelers>

    2. 2:  marked by disregard for strict rules of correctness

      This is most likely the negative but obsolete term the labelers are using to label.  It resorts back to sex and having sex and how that upsets them.  Unless they want the sex of course.}

  4. 4:  not literal or strict :looseliberal translation>

    { EDITOR’S NOTES:  This one is neutral.  I think it’s probably a good thing that people are not literal or strict with everything but sometimes some boundaries help.}

  5. 5:broad-mindedespecially:  not bound by authoritarianism, orthodoxy, or traditional forms

    { EDITOR’S NOTES:  Um, love this one.  Agree, I don’t want to be bound by the traditional forms of yesteryear or some arbitrary and outdated rules made up by some old man slave owner hundreds of years ago.}

  6. 6a :  of, favoring, or based upon the principles of liberalismbcapitalized:  of or constituting a political party advocating or associated with the principles of political liberalism; especially:  of or constituting a political party in the United Kingdom associated with ideals of individual especially economic freedom, greater individual participation in government, and constitutional, political, and administrative reforms designed to secure these objectives

    { EDITOR’S NOTES:  I don’t live in the UK but principles such as economic freedom, greater individual participation in govern and reforms are good.  Gives us “liberalism”

    1. :  the quality or state of being liberal

    2. 2aoften capitalized:  a movement in modern Protestantism emphasizing intellectual liberty and the spiritual and ethical content of Christianityb :  a theory in economics emphasizing individual freedom from restraint and usually based on free competition, the self-regulating market, and the gold standard (see gold standard 1)c :  a political philosophy based on belief in progress, the essential goodness of the human race, and the autonomy (see autonomy 2) of the individual and standing for the protection of political and civil liberties; specifically:  such a philosophy that considers government as a crucial instrument for amelioration of social inequities (such as those involving race, gender, or class)dcapitalized:  the principles and policies of a Liberal (see 1liberal 6b) party

      I mean, none of this sounds all that bad–but isn’t it interesting all politics derive essentially from religious politics}.

But maybe I am a “liberal” but other than being a little sexual or “licentious,” there’s nothing so bad about being called a “liberal” so why do the labelers who use those ideas think using the term to insult someone by calling them a “liberal” is some kind of actual insult.  IT ISN’T!

OK, So let’s look at the next term used to insult and demean by the labelers that apparently is now “in season”– Snowflake.

Apparently this is a new term used by the labelers to justify the fact that they are actually the small-minded ones who cannot stand up to criticism, but I digress–

Definition of snowflake

  1. 1:  a flake or crystal of snow

    {EDITOR’S NOTE:  Ok, so they are demonizing a natural occurring substance – frozen water.}

  2. 2:  any of a genus (Leucojum) of Old World bulbous plants of the amaryllis family; especially:  one (L. vernum) resembling the snowdrop

    {EDITOR’S NOTE:  Now a reference to a flower the Amaryllis.  The “snowdrop” amaryllis specifically.  If you know anything about mythology, you know that the Amaryllis is named after a Greek Shepherdess, it means “Sparkling” and has other meanings related to the bible and Garden of Eden and Eve being expelled.  Amaryllis being linked to Snowflake which is linked to paganism and also Christianity, it is the flower of Yuletide carols.   An innocent flower to me, but for them, a dark symbol of their treachery by confusing meanings.}

I probably am not, in fact, a snowflake if you take the term literally. But of course, nothing can be taken at face value in our society these days or with the people we encounter.  Or the people we think we knew.  If we disagree, if we get upset, if we question, or if we are simply minding our own business and post on social media something they view as ‘offensive’ they start using these innocent terms that are now somewhat demonized to demean another person.  That is why the future is so painfully bleak, that is why I just want a piece of land to retire to and to get away from people.  That is why I’ve resorted back to writing back in this blog.

President Obama says we need to talk to the labelers but you see, it’s impossible to talk to them because they hear only what they want to hear and believe only what they want to believe.  They are not open to debate or controversy they just want to talk louder and start labeling and criticizing; it’s impossible in today’s society to talk to one another in a logical way because we are all living under false belief systems.  It doesn’t matter if in fact the world is round, most people will scream it is flat and then when you show them the science to back up the actual research they will denounce the research and label it as “fake.”  If you disagree, you will be labeled a “liberal snowflake” or in some cases a “conspiracy theorist.”  And it won’t be from only the government.  It will be from your neighbors, your acquaintances, the people you say hi to each day without really knowing.  The co-workers on your job who are ‘joking’ in the break room about hurting someone.  The people who you may even be related to.

There can be no discourse with those who continue to label and demean.  And it goes on both sides.  Whatever “sides” are, that is how divided we all are, we must choose a “side” that is non-existent. If you are not open to listening and considering another opinion in a logical and civil manner, then you aren’t an adult–much less a logical one.  If you don’t have an open mind, then there is no point in discourse and that is why I have chosen to disengage from such folks.   We all need to shift our own paradigms–how we were brought up, the symbols and the mythology of our culture, what we truly value as people, where we are going in the future– and it starts by stopping the labeling and stopping the demeaning.

And stop with nonsense that an innocent, beautiful, pure, and unique thing as a “snowflake” is somehow a bad thing or a political thing.  IT ISN’T! In fact, it’s just a crystal made of water, a reflection to look at ourself from.  A snowflake is a childhood memory of the first snowfall and sticking out your tongue to taste the frozen crystals. A snowflake is a reminder how wonderful the changing seasons are.  A snowflake contributes to the life cycle and each snowflake is different, each snowflake melts and creates water which gives life to us and every creature on earth.  If being a snowflake means to stand purely for rights for all creatures both human and non-human, dignity for all creatures both human and non-human, and understanding for all creatures both human and non-human then go ahead and call me a snowflake– I dare you!
